The first 1'000 people who buy a membership on tapwriter are considered “founding members". They receive an exclusive profile status, distinguishing them as Founding Members. As soon as we have activated 1'000 "founding members", new types of memberships will become available.

As a founding member you will be investing in a revolutionary platform which will assist in solving the ever apparent “chicken and egg” issue facing journalists today. You believe in our vision and are a risk taker. For this we will hold you up as pillars of the platform.

A Founding Member gets full access to all premium stories for the first year. Your account will begin with 90 credits, worth 1 CHF each. You can use these credits to support our tapwriters’ unique stories and projects.

As a Hero Founding Member you also receive full access to all premium stories for the first year. Upon registering you will receive 180 credits, worth 1CHF each, that you can use to support our tapwriters’ unique stories and projects.

Being a member allows for your participation. Your membership comes with credits instantly that you can use to support Tapwriter. This enables you to finance the important work of a tapwriter that inspires you, making stories possible on topics that you find interesting or of societal importance.
As a member, you also have the opportunity to exchange information with other members and tapwriters: Discuss story ideas, inquire about a planned project ("idea") or share your wisdom with them.

Use your credits to directly support tapwriters and their ideas, projects and stories. This enables you to finance the important work of a tapwriter that inspires you, making stories possible on topics that you find interesting or of societal importance.
How many credits you give a story or project is entirely up to you.
Additional credits can be purchased at any time.

If you choose not to renew your membership at the end of the one year period, your user account will be reset to the status User*in. If remaining credits exist once the account is expired, we will reserve them for you for three months. If you purchase a new membership in those three months, we will restore the expired credits to your new account.

For now, only founding memberships are available. Once we have reached our 1,000 founding members, we will introduce additional membership options with various durations some less than a year.

Absolutely. It’s free to register and explore the platform before committing to a membership. You will have basic access to features like publishing, public stories, and can follow tapwriters and other community users.

You can cancel your user account at any time. Visit your personal profile settings in your account for further instruction. The membership fee is non refundable and your credit expires upon cancelation of the account.

Currently paid membership is only available in Switzerland for tax reasons. Membership for additional countries will be available soon.
