Traditional roles that dictate who is or can be a journalist, no longer are relevant today. Network media have led to a democratisation of what is considered public journalism. The profession of a journalist has developed with the classical mass media under conditions that no longer exist today.
One of our goals with the Tapwriter platform is to be open to redefining roles. (Guiding Principle #2). We believe journalism will evolve even further in the coming years. There will be a more modern interpretation of what a journalist is. But there is still a lot to be clarified: What will the societal expectations of these journalist be? What standards should they adhere to? These are questions that we want to discuss with our community on an ongoing basis. The answers we find will inform the development of our rules and regulations.
All you need to do to become a tapwriter is adhere to the nine standards we have established.
